Ah, how I love the caress of a gentle breeze on my skin while I’m basking in the sun on a glorious 70 degree day. It’s my favorite time of the year to sit outside with great company and enjoy a nice cold Prosecco. It doesn’t matter if it’s for happy hour or on a Saturday afternoon, I love this simple indulgence in life. Lately, as I’m planning for more of these luxurious afternoons, I’ve been contemplating what would be a really fun thing to wear. Then I realized that I kept coming back to a great pair of white jeans. Although most people would love this look, it can be tough to navigate these waters. White, after all, is not always forgiving. If they aren’t the right style, fabric, or weight, it could go wrong fairly fast.
When looking for that right pair of white jeans, make sure that you can’t see through them at all. Several months ago, I thought I had found the perfect pair of white boot cut jeans. They looked SO amazing on and I absolutely loved them, however, when I looked at them in different lighting, you could see straight through the pants. Regardless how much praise I was receiving from my assistant, those white jeans had to go! Another factor to check out, is whether or not you can see the pockets through the jeans. This is never the best look if you have a fitted pair of white jeans and can see the front pocket lining through them. It will take away from the look you are creating. I also recommend that with white jeans, it’s best to go for a mid-to-high rise jean. Given that white is not very forgiving, find a great fitting jean that tucks you in in the right places. We want the jeans to compliment our figure, not accentuate any flaws. The last thing I always look for is the pocket placement on the back pockets. If you want your bum to look it’s best, choose a jean that has pockets close to the center and up high. This will make your bum look perky and shapely. I mean who doesn’t like a great looking bum?

So, I thought I found the best pair, 7 for Mankind, ankle length (mistake #1), stretchy jean material, fitted but not super skinny. Thought they were cute for a few months but now when I put them on I think they look terrible – my legs are too short for the ankle cut (so I do roll them up) but they are just generally NOT flattering. You know my bod Keri – do you think the flair would be best on an athletic, shorter leg build?

Yes, either a boot/flare or you could do the AG Adriano Goldschmied The Jodi Crop in White. I just got them in denim and I love them. I did have to get them shortened though. Thanks for reading and commenting!
