Let’s talk about jumpsuits. Most people assume that jumpsuits are a passing fad that are only good for tall thin girls in their 20’s. I think that’s why it’s taken so many years for most of the country to embrace jumpsuits. I have to admit that when they first hit the scene in LA and NY I laughed and thought it was not only a passing trend but a trend that would take a long time to take hold in Denver. Well, I was right about one thing, it took awhile but it is here and bigger than ever. Now my question is “are jumpsuits still a trend or are they a wardrobe staple?” I think looking at the designers and major retailers, I’m going to say it’s a new wardrobe staple for the time being but just like anything in fashion, it will circle around again.
If you haven’t jumped on the boat yet, it’s time. I feel like jumpsuits can look great on any body type and any height of woman if you find the right one. If you have a slim frame, you’d look great in the narrow leg version. If you have more of a fuller figure, I would choose one with a wide leg. I love ones in a solid dark color as they always take 5 pounds off of you and who wouldn’t want that? Here’s my favorite jumpsuit that I love to wear for a day at the studio or an evening event. Change up the accessories and it’s amazing how it can change. My favorite is from Rachel Pally.

A lot of designers and stores are now carrying amazing jumpsuits in all different patterns and styles. I love that they are available in sleeveless, short sleeve, long sleeve, tapered legs, wide legs, print and solids. This really makes the look more accessible for the every day woman. I’ve even seen a cute one from the unexpected Chico’s which is great for a more full figured woman.
