With all of the hoopla in the news, people are cancelling their spring break plans. Mine were also cancelled so I was thinking about where I can get away to after this hard winter. I feel like I’ve been cold for 3 months and the possibility of staying in Denver wasn’t on my list. If you are like me, here are some of the places I came up with for spring break. Whether you want to drive or fly, my thought was “where would I not mind having to stay for an extra 2 weeks if I had to.”
Let’s start with my favorite
Scottsdale, Arizona
Where to stay:
– Four Seasons, Troon North (Free kids club)
– Amazing pool and restaurants
What to do:
– Great hiking
– Shop Oldtown Scottsdale
– Art Gallery hop
– Eat at any of their well known dining options
Why I love it:
– 3 days feels like a week in this paradise
– “The most livable city” – It’s so easy to get around

Santa Fe, New Mexico
Where to stay:
– Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe
Wonderful spa
What to do:
– Great hiking
Tent Rocks National Monument
Bandelier National Monument
– Stroll down Canyon Road
Visit local galleries, restaurants and boutiques
– See a show at the Santa Fe Opera
– Georgia O’Keeffe House and Museum
Why I love it:
– The weather during this time of year is just the right amount of warmth.
– Relaxed pace, stimulating culture, historic architecture makes you feel like you’re in a different country
Palm Springs, CA
Where to stay:
Beautiful private bungalows
Adult-only resort
What to do:
– Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
The largest rotating aerial tramway in the world
– Hike to a waterfall oasis at Tahquitz Canyon
– Palm Canyon Drive
– Art galleries and antique shopping
– Joshua Tree National Park
Why I love it:
– Excellent restaurant scene
Miami, FL
Where to stay:
Infinity edge pool on the bay
Private beach and great spa
What to do:
– White sand beaches
– Little Havana
Feel as if you just traveled back in time to Cuba. Enjoy the food, the culture, and the music
– Wynwood
Art galleries, street art, dining, and high end shopping
– Vizcaya Museum
– Perez Art Museum
Why I love it:
– The lively energy is one that simply awakens your senses
– The culture and food
After all of my thoughts, we landed on Maui! Who wouldn’t mind a few extra weeks in paradise with US health care at our finger tips.
