Women of Style

Women Of StyleWhen it comes to determining your own personal style, we usually look to another for inspiration. That can include bloggers, celebrities or even characters in television shows. There are many great women of style out there and here are a few of our favorites.

She is a classic icon and had very feminine personal style. You can typically spot photos of her in midi dresses and pearls.  And, guess what? Midi dresses are everywhere at the moment, so it’s easy to replicate her look and channel your timeless beauty for a special night out.

If you are looking for a power-house character with a killer style, then Alicia Florrick is your woman. Her outfits in The Good Wife is precise and embodies that executive woman’s style who is in control and always looks polished. To emanate her style, invest in perfectly tailored blazers and a pencil skirt that fits like a glove. Anything tailored always looks sharp.

Amal Clooney

I’m sure by now, everyone is aware of Amal Clooney’s style. Her style is very feminine and sophisticated. She’s mastered the art of great shift dresses in both solid colors and simplistic details that can easily go from day to night. She is also quite known for her monochromatic outfits, such as her bridal pant suit pictured above. To pull off her style, look for a shift dress that fits your body type. After all, we don’t all have her amazing figure.

Olivia Pope

Kerry Washington’s character, Olivia Pope, on Scandal should be no surprise on the list. Her office attire is enviable and always looks put together and extremely chic. Incorporate cardigans and great fitted coats or cape jackets (we wrote a great post on where to find the best ones) with your outfits and you are channeling Olivia.

Kate Middleton

The Duchess of Cambridge is definitely a style crush. Her look is reminiscent of the late Princess Diana with a mixture of preppy and classic elegance. To incorporate her style in your everyday look, pair a great skinny pant with flats or wedges and a stripe top with a blazer.

Michelle Obama

The first lady exudes a classic style full of dresses in great prints from Prabal Gurung to Jason Wu. If you want to channel Michelle Obama, start with sleeveless sheath dress in bold colors that are sure to show off those fabulous arms.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Like her famously known character, Carrie Bradshaw, SJP herself is a style maven. She is quite the style chameleon and takes risks that always pay off. To bring out your inner Sarah Jessica Parker, experiment in pairing different prints and colors together but keeping with the same overall theme of the outfit.

Blake Lively

Similar to her character, Serena Vanderwoodsen on Gossip Girl, Blake Lively’s personal style is classic with a bold touch. She’s got an affinity for designers and loves to show off her best assets, her legs! To channel her style, look to more dresses that accentuate your legs or outfits that accentuate your body with more fitted silhouettes.

Let me know if any of these fabulous ladies are your style crushes.
